How to Upcycle...

Upcycled Stamper

Each month Upcycle Micheal shows you how to upcycle some old materials into something super cool!

What you need this month...

Use your upcycling skills to create your own stamper set with a small flower and large petal design – or come up with your own!

Card and Cardboard Tube.
Plastic Lids or any interestingly shaped recycling!
Coloured Paper, Scissors and Masking Tape.
Paint, Sponge or Paintbrush.

The Upcycle...

Step 1

Get help to cut two rectangles of card measuring around 5cm x 8cm, or big enough for your stamper design. Then cut out a long strip of card.

Step 2

Fold the card strip into a concertina shape to make flower petals, leaving about 1/3 of it flat. Fold the last 1/3 in half to make the stalk.

Step 3

Cut the cardboard tube in half to create two short tubes. Push the side of one tube inwards to make a heart shape. Stick the heart shape and flower design to each rectangle of card.

Step 4

Dab green paint on the stem of the small flower stamper, and pink on its petals (or use your chosen colours). Stamp near the middle of the coloured paper, then repeat to create a row of flowers.

Step 5

Use purple paint, or any colour you prefer, to stamp several large petals in a circle to create a large flower underneath the small flower row. Repeat across the bottom of the page. You can even let them climb up the sides!

Step 6

Let your picture dry, then display it. Carefully blot any leftover paint, then let your stampers dry too. If you look after them, you can use them over and over again!
